Speculation on Avengers: Secret Wars as End of Phase 6 and MCU Tradition

The rumored Avengers: Secret Wars as the end of Phase 6 would break a tradition of Avengers movies serving as the culmination of an MCU saga, which has not happened since the first Avengers film in 2012. The Multiverse Saga, which encompasses several MCU installments, centers around the concept of multiple realities and the character Kang the Conqueror as the new big bad of the MCU. Avengers: The Kang Dynasty is expected to lead into Secret Wars, which could be the culmination of the Multiverse Saga.

However, the MCU has a tendency to release smaller-scale films immediately after an Avengers movie, such as Ant-Man following Age of Ultron and Spider-Man: Far from Home ending Phase 3, so it's possible that an unannounced solo film for a character like Shang-Chi or Spider-Man 4 could end the Multiverse Saga instead. Marvel's current release slate extends into 2026, with the sixth Avengers movie being the furthest out on the schedule.
