Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI), the popular mobile game, is reportedly set to make a comeback in India, months after it was banned in the country. According to sources within the government, a decision was taken to unblock the app for a limited period of three months, subject to certain changes being made to the game. The company has reportedly assured the government that it will comply with all rules. While the decision to lift the ban may bring cheer to gamers, there is no clarity on why the game has been given a green signal despite intelligence reports claiming that it was communicating with servers in China. The government has asked the company to introduce relevant changes in the game, including the server, due to concerns around addiction, murders, and suicides. Players will also be subject to a time limit and restrictions on hours of playing, and the color of the blood in the game will be changed to prevent violent content. Other apps that have "re-branded" are also said to be communicating with servers in China and are under scrutiny.
