First Look at John Wick: Chapter 4
Lionsgate has released the first official image for John Wick: Chapter 4, the latest instalment in the hitman franchise, featuring Keanu Reeves sitting in an altar surrounded by candles. The movie, a direct sequel to John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, sees the titular hitman teaming up with Bowery King (Laurence Fishburne) in a quest for vengeance against the High Table. Filming locations for the movie have been scattered around the world, with a trailer for the film having premiered at CinemaCon in April. Details about the plot remain scarce, but we can expect the same high-octane action and professional assassins as in previous movies.
John Wick: Chapter 4 is co-written by Shay Hatten and Michael Finch, and stars Donnie Yen, Ian McShane, Hiroyuki Sanada, Rina Sawayama, Shamier Anderson, and Lance Reddick. The movie was originally slated for a May 2022 release but was delayed until March 2023 due to pandemic-related concerns. The movie’s creator, Derek Kolstad, is not involved in the film as a screenwriter, with Shay Hatten and Michael Finch taking over. Lionsgate Television is planning on expanding the John Wick franchise with a TV show spin-off titled “The Continental,” based around the assassin's hotel in the John Wick franchise.
