Redmi Note 12 Pro Review
The Redmi Note 12 Pro+ is a high-end smartphone from Xiaomi's sub-brand, Redmi Note, which is known for its affordable and value-for-money offerings. The Redmi Note 12 Pro+ marks a departure from the brand's traditional mid-level price range, with a price tag of over Rs 30,000. The phone features a bright and colour-rich AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh screen, Full HD+ resolution, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The phone is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 1080 SoC and comes with 8GB and 12GB RAM options. The 4,980mAh battery can easily last for over a day's usage and can be fully charged in around 20 minutes with the bundled 120W charger. The phone has a 200-megapixel main camera that delivers sharpness and details, but the 2-megapixel macro sensor is a letdown. The Redmi Note 12 Pro+ is reliable for day-to-day tasks but is not gaming-friendly. The software experience is a letdown, with the Android 12-based MIUI 13 version being provided in 2023, and the promise of OS updates for multiple years unlikely to be met at this rate. Overall, the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ is a good all-round device, but its premium price and fierce competition make it a challenging proposition for Indian buyers.
