Instagram Now Offering Broadcast Channels To Help Creators Grow

Meta, the parent company of Facebook, has launched a new one-to-many messaging tool on Instagram called broadcast channels. The tool is designed to allow creators to engage directly with their followers at scale, with features including voice notes, polls and the ability to bring another creator into the channel to discuss collaborations. Only creators will be able to send messages on the channels, but followers can react and vote in polls. Once a creator sends the first message from their Instagram inbox, followers will receive a one-time notification to join the channel. Followers can leave or mute the channels at any time and can control their notifications from creators. The channels are currently being tested with a handful of creators in the US, and Meta said it plans to expand them on Messenger and Facebook in the coming months.
