Mortal Kombat 12 Scheduled for 2023 Release Confirmed by Warner Bros

Warner Bros. Discovery has confirmed the existence of Mortal Kombat 12 during its quarterly earnings call, with "ambitious launch projections" for the highly-anticipated fighter sequel. Developed by NetherRealm Studios, the game will likely release on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X, with a potential release on old-gen PS4 and Xbox One. The announcement follows speculation in June, when Andrew Bowen, voice actor for Johnny Cage in the Mortal Kombat games, tweeted a video of him at the Warner Bros. parking lot. While NetherRealm had remained secretive about the project, creator Ed Boon had previously denied that Mortal Kombat 12 was in development. The game will compete against Street Fighter 6 and Tekken 8 in 2023.
