HBO has released a trailer for episode 7 of "The Last of Us," the post-apocalyptic zombie drama based on the popular PlayStation video game. The upcoming episode is titled "Left Behind" and directed by Liza Johnson, focusing on a pivotal character from the game's DLC, Riley. The arc reportedly lasts 56 minutes, compared to the two hours it took to complete the "Left Behind" DLC. The episode chronicles the three weeks leading up to Ellie's introduction in the show, with the trailer featuring a flashback sequence of Ellie attending military prep school in the Boston quarantine zone before meeting her companion Joel. The episode will premiere on February 27 on Disney+ Hotstar and HBO Max.

The trailer shows Ellie haunted by visions of her past, including her time with Riley, played by Storm Reid. The duo spends the night in an abandoned mall, with glimpses of them fighting off hordes of zombies. The episode will provide a deeper insight into Ellie's backstory, with Joel taking a backseat to allow for character-building. It remains to be seen if the episode will feature the moment when Ellie gets bit and discovers she is immune to the Cordyceps fungi's effects.

HBO content, including "The Last of Us," is reportedly set to leave Disney+ Hotstar in India due to restructuring plans by Disney CEO Bob Iger, with no word on where the content will move to. New episodes of "The Last of Us" stream every Monday on Disney+ Hotstar and Sunday on HBO Max, with season 1 comprising nine episodes.
