The Flash Surpasses Batman as the Most Feared Hero in the DC Universe

In the DC Universe, The Flash has become the most feared hero, surpassing Batman. The story "Don't Come to Central City" in The Flash #800 explores why villains prefer Gotham over Central City.

Bruce Wayne, after losing his parents, dedicated himself to improving Gotham by becoming Batman. He trained extensively and instilled fear in criminals. Batman's reputation spread, and the city became known for its Dark Knight. Although Gotham had its share of colorful villains like the Riddler and the Joker, most criminals avoided Batman's territory.

In the story, a group of villains gather and discuss the best and worst cities for supervillains. While iconic cities like Metropolis and Gotham are mentioned, one villain suggests that Central City isn't so bad. However, his friends disagree, stating that Central City is the worst place for a supervillain. They recount stories of villains like the Joker and the Condiment King who failed in their attempts to conquer the Flash's territory. The group also fears the Flash's children, who can not only defeat them but also humiliate them.

It may be surprising that the villains fear Central City more than Gotham. However, many DC villains understand that Batman is just a man and not as legendary as urban myths suggest. The Flash, being a metahuman, possesses incredible speed and can swiftly end fights. Moreover, the Flash is part of a family of heroes with similar abilities, making Central City safer than Batman's domain.

Bruce Wayne has achieved remarkable feats without powers, but even his advanced gadgets can't match the raw power of a speedster. The Flash's incredible speed makes him a formidable opponent for most villains. While some villains can counter his speed, the majority are unable to combat someone so fast, which terrifies criminals.

The Flash #800, available on June 5th, explores why Wally West, the Flash, is more frightening than Batman.
