The Flash Receives Positive Reviews but Falls in Line with DCEU's Rotten Tomatoes History

The Flash, a movie in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU), has received positive early reviews, even rumored praise from Tom Cruise. Now, the movie's Rotten Tomatoes score has been released, and we will see how it compares to other DCEU films.

The Flash currently has a 71 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes. This puts it as the fifth highest-rated DCEU movie on the site, tied with Zack Snyder's Justice League. Out of the 14 movies in the DCEU, only eight have earned a "Fresh" score on Rotten Tomatoes. The DCEU, as a whole, has an average score of 61 percent. So, The Flash's score is just 10 points higher than the average.

The DCEU movies with higher scores than The Flash include Wonder Woman (93 percent), The Suicide Squad (91 percent), Shazam! (90 percent), and Birds of Prey (79 percent).

Although The Flash is tied for the fifth-highest Rotten Tomatoes score overall in the DCEU, it actually has the third-best score among solo movies in the franchise. Only Wonder Woman and Shazam! have higher scores among solo films. It's worth noting that there are few solo movies in the DCEU, with most focusing on team-ups or ensembles.

While The Flash's reviews have been mostly positive, its 71 percent score doesn't deviate much from the DCEU's complicated history with Rotten Tomatoes. The future of the franchise may not be heavily influenced by the movie's reviews or Rotten Tomatoes score, especially considering the upcoming Superman: Legacy, which is a quasi-reboot by James Gunn. However, if The Flash marks the end of the DCEU, it at least concludes on a generally positive note.
