Zack Snyder's DC Characters Return in The Flash: What to Expect from the Multiverse Adventure
The upcoming DC film, The Flash, directed by Zack Snyder, is an important part of the new DC Universe being created by James Gunn and Peter Safran. The movie is loosely based on Flashpoint and follows the story of Barry Allen, who explores the multiverse and aims to reset the DC Universe and its characters.
In the recent trailer for The Flash, it is revealed that Jeremy Irons will be returning as Alfred Pennyworth, a character he previously played in the Justice League Snyder Cut. Although the Snyder Cut is not part of the official DC Extended Universe (DCEU), Irons' return is intriguing since his last appearance was in the theatrical cut of Justice League.
The Flash movie will also feature other characters from Snyder's previous films. Ben Affleck will reprise his role as Batman, possibly for the last time, and some of Snyder's DC villains will also appear, including Michael Shannon as General Zod and Antje Traue as Faora. It is likely that these versions of the characters are alternative versions rather than the original ones, considering the events of Man of Steel.
Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman is expected to have a small role in The Flash movie, potentially her final appearance as the iconic DC heroine. While it is bittersweet to see these actors potentially portraying their characters for the last time, it will be exciting to see what Gunn and Safran have in store for the new DC Universe after The Flash.
There may be more surprises and cameos from characters in Snyder's past films that have not been revealed yet. The Flash movie aims to do justice to these characters, and fans hope it will provide a satisfying continuation of their stories.
