Batman and Catwoman Clash in The Gotham War Crossover Event

 

DC Comics is introducing a new crossover event called Batman/Catwoman: The Gotham War. This story takes place after another event called Knight Terrors: Batman. In Gotham City, efforts to reduce crime have been successful, but there are consequences. Villains are losing their power, and a new regime is taking control. Batman is recovering from his previous adventures and is focused on Catwoman, who seems to be at the center of the changes in Gotham.

The crossover is created by Chip Zdarsky, Tini Howard, Mike Hawthorne, and Adriano Di Benedetto. It follows Batman as he fights against Catwoman, who wants to take over Gotham for herself. The event starts with Batman/Catwoman: The Gotham War - Battle Lines #1 and continues in Batman #137-138, Catwoman #57-58, and Batman/Catwoman: The Gotham War: Red Hood, a two-issue miniseries featuring Jason Todd. It concludes with a final one-shot called Batman/Catwoman: The Gotham War – Scorched Earth #1.

Both Batman and Catwoman have been through difficult experiences recently. Batman had to deal with his robotic contingency and faced a dangerous Joker variant in an alternate Earth. Catwoman was imprisoned for killing her lover but has since escaped and wants to improve Gotham. She is gathering allies to challenge the city's underground players.
