Mortal Kombat 2: Return of Bi-Han and the Rise of Noob Saibot
Mortal Kombat 2 is the sequel to the 2021 reboot of the Mortal Kombat movie franchise. The producer of the movie, Todd Garner, posted a picture on Twitter with two actors, Joe Taslim and Chin Han, who play important characters in the film. This strongly suggests that both Taslim and Han will be returning for Mortal Kombat 2. Taslim's character, Bi-Han, who is also known as Sub-Zero, may return as Noob Saibot in the sequel.
In the Mortal Kombat universe, characters can come back to life even after being killed, and Bi-Han's story in the games demonstrates this. If Taslim returns as Noob Saibot, it will not only bring Bi-Han back into the tournament but also show his full villainous history in the movies. This would establish Bi-Han as one of the main villains in the modern Mortal Kombat movie series.
The rivalry between Scorpion and Sub-Zero is a central part of Mortal Kombat. They fought as Hanzo Hasashi and Bi-Han in feudal Japan at the beginning of the 2021 film and had a major showdown at the end. With Bi-Han's possible return as Noob Saibot, it is highly likely that Scorpion will also make a significant appearance in Mortal Kombat 2. This suggests that Hanzo and Bi-Han will face each other for the third time in the sequel.
In Mortal Kombat lore, there are two Sub-Zeros, Bi-Han and his brother Kuai Liang. Bi-Han's return as Noob Saibot in Mortal Kombat 2 leaves room for Kuai Liang to take up the Sub-Zero mantle. Unlike his brother, Kuai Liang fights for Earthrealm, which brings new dynamics to the story. There may be distrust among the Earthrealm warriors towards Kuai Liang because of his connection to Bi-Han, which adds tension to the tournament in Mortal Kombat 2.
The potential return of Bi-Han as Noob Saibot opens up exciting possibilities to expand the mythology of these characters and their relationships in the sequel. It could lead to a new version of the final battle in Mortal Kombat, with Kuai Liang teaming up with either Cole Young or Scorpion to face Noob Saibot. Mortal Kombat 2 has the potential to further develop the stories of these characters and introduce new character dynamics to the franchise.
