Chris Hemsworth Returns as Thor in Darker Thor 5, Addressing MCU Uncertainty and Future Storylines
Chris Hemsworth is set to return as Thor in a possible fifth Thor movie. This new film is expected to have a darker tone compared to the previous Thor movies. The last movie, Thor: Love and Thunder, didn't do as well as expected due to its failure to balance humor and serious moments effectively.
The director, Taika Waititi, is known for his ability to blend comedy and drama successfully, as seen in Thor: Ragnarok. However, Thor: Love and Thunder struggled with finding the right balance, resulting in a disjointed film. This issue needs to be addressed when Hemsworth returns as Thor.
The ending of Thor: Love and Thunder set up several storylines for Thor's future. One post-credits scene revealed that Thor's actions had angered Zeus, who sent his son Hercules to seek revenge. Thor 5 would likely explore this storyline, as it doesn't fit into the already-announced MCU films. Additionally, Thor now has a daughter named Love, who is the daughter of Gorr the God Butcher. Thor 5 would need to explore how Thor's new family dynamic affects his character.
Hemsworth has hinted at Thor's potential death in future MCU appearances. He has mentioned that the next time Thor appears, it would mark the end of his character's story. Given that other Avengers like Iron Man and Black Widow have already left the MCU, there is a possibility that Thor might be killed off. Marvel could strike a deal with Hemsworth to have Thor 5 conclude the character's arc while providing a definitive ending in one of the upcoming Avengers movies.
