Qualcomm is planning to launch the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC

Qualcomm is reportedly planning to launch its next processor, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, earlier than its planned schedule, with a possible release date in the fourth quarter of 2023. The upcoming SoC has been tipped to offer better performance with less power consumption, with Geekbench scores indicating around a 25% higher CPU performance than its predecessor, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC was launched last year and features a peak clock speed of 3.2GHz and dual AI processors. It is based on a 4nm process technology and supports new image sensors and Snapdragon Elite Gaming with real-time hardware-accelerated ray tracing and HDR scenes. The next top-of-the-line Snapdragon processor is expected to power most of the flagship phones arriving in the fourth quarter of 2023 and beyond.
