Instagram has enabled users to post GIFs in reply to posts and stories using the online GIF database GIPHY. The feature is being rolled out in phases, with the full launch expected in the coming weeks. The social media app has also introduced a "Not Interested" button, which enables users to manage recommendations, and "Quiet Mode", designed to help users focus by disabling notifications. Users can enable Quiet Mode by going to their profile, tapping the three-line icon, selecting "Settings" and then "Notification". Quiet Mode and Not Interested Modes were initially launched in the US, UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, with Instagram planning to roll out both features in other countries.
