Google Pixel Fold set to launch in June, expected to cost $1,700
Google is set to release its first foldable smartphone, the Pixel Fold, which is expected to launch in June this year, according to a CNBC report. It rebukes earlier leaks suggesting a May 10 release date at the Google I/O event. The Pixel Fold is internally known as "Felix" and is said to have a durable hinge, pocket size, and water resistance, with an outer display measuring 5.8 inches, opening to expose a small tablet-sized 7.6-inch screen, the same size as Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 4. The device is expected to weigh 283 grams and will cost around $1,700. The Pixel Fold is powered by Google's Tensor G2 chip, and the company claims it will have a 24-hour battery life, extending up to 72 hours in low-power mode. The report also suggests that Google plans to offer a free Pixel Watch with every purchase and a trade-in offer for exchanging Pixel, iPhone or any Android phone for a discount on the Pixel Fold smartphone. Photos leaked by OnLeaks and HowToiSolve show that the device will have a 7.69-inch inner display, with a right-sided single hole-punch camera slot, and a 5.79-inch cover display with a centered hole-punch selfie camera slot. The three rear cameras are located alongside an LED flash module on the back panel in an elevated rectangular module. The Pixel Fold will be available in Silver and Black color options.
