Capcom to release free demo of Resident Evil 4 remake, online presentation scheduled for March 10
Capcom is set to drop a free demo for the highly anticipated Resident Evil 4 remake on March 10, following an online presentation of its new and upcoming titles. The demo will reportedly be available on PS4, PS5, Steam (PC), and Xbox Series S/X. The presentation, called 'Capcom Spotlight', will also showcase other games such as Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection, Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective, and Exoprimal. The event will be live-streamed on Capcom's YouTube, Twitch, TikTok, and Facebook channels. To promote the game, Capcom has also launched a browser mini-game called 'Baby Eagle Is Missing', which serves as a prequel to Resident Evil 4's events.
Capcom has confirmed that the remake's extreme weather effects will be toned down via a day-one patch, following feedback from fans who found it too distracting. The game largely follows the same plot as the original 2005 game, but with several gameplay changes such as new side quests, more exploration, and a new parry mechanic using a knife. Capcom has also begun developing a virtual reality version of Resident Evil 4, which will be released as a free DLC to owners of the base game on PS VR2.
The Resident Evil 4 remake is set to launch on March 24 on PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X. Fans can catch the online presentation on March 10 at 4am IST/2:30pm PT in the US.
